From the Athens International Airport (El. Venizelos) to the Conference venue
The construction of the Athens International Airport, Eleftherios Venizelos, started in 1997. In May 2001 it was inaugurated, at the being the second largest airport in Europe and 5th in the world. It is a new and highly advanced airport located 27 km south east of Athens and can be rapidly accessed via a six-lane motorway and public transport - express airport bus on a 24 h basis - from Athens center and the port of Piraeus. Parking facilities in the new Athens International Airport have been designed to meet your needs both in terms of quality as well as quantity.
1. BUS
To access the DIVANI CARAVEL HOTEL (Conference venue) by city bus from the Athens International Airport, use the Line E95 (X95) from airport. Please get off at the "Athens Hilton" bus stop.

2. TAXI
The airport is accessible by taxi on a 24-hour basis. Passengers reaching the Airport disembark at the Departures level, where they can proceed directly to the check-in counters. When leaving the airport, please make use of the taxi queue next to Door 3 of the Arrivals Level. Approx. cost from Airport to Conference Venue: during the day 25 EUR - during the night 35 EUR. Taxis are available any time day or night through the front desk, within approximately 15 minutes after the request.
3. METRO
To access the Conference Venue from the Airport by METRO use Metro line 3: "Athens International Airport - Egaleo". Please get off at "Evagelismos" station.

Athens City Bus

Athens Metro
It's a great way to travel in Athens since it shortens by 50% the travelling time as compared to other types of transportation. There is a train every 3 minutes at peak hours and every 5 to 10 minutes at off-peak hours.
It's a three-line system:
Line 1 ( from Piraeus to Kifissia running from 05:00' to 00:30' )
Line 2 ( from Agios Antonios to Agios Dimitrios running from 05:30' to 24:00' )
Line 3 ( from Egaleo to Doukissis Plakentias running from 05:30' to 24:00' )
The price of the ticket is 0.80 Euro. Each ticket is valid for 90 minutes from the time of its validation and for all Public Transportation Means except special routes, e.g. to/from the Airport.

Athens Light Rail

Aiming at improving the quality of service and efficiency of the Public Transport Network, the Ministry of Transport has decided to implement a tram network connecting the City Center with the southern suburbs. The Tram will satisfy the increased transport needs and contribute to the protection of the environment. The total length of the tramway will be 23.7 km and the maximum capacity estimated to be 8,500 persons per hour and direction. The project is supervised by Tram S.A. a new company established especially for this purpose, as a subsidiary of Attiko Metro.

Pre-booked Taxis are provided upon request and make use of the inner curb of the Arrivals Level as a staging area.
Receipt
According to the Greek Legislation, taxi drivers should provide upon request a receipt for the amount paid for transportation services. The receipt should also indicate the taxi registration number and the driver's name.
Lost items in taxis
In case of lost items in taxis, please contact, the radio taxi Service Company where taxis are registered or the central police switchboard at +30 210 642 1616, and provide the taxi registration number and the driver's name.
